Ten years ago, on a day marked by uncertainty, I found myself face to face with a challenge: extensive surgery for colon cancer.
Following the surgery came the rigors of chemotherapy, a process no one can ever truly be prepared for. Yet, here I stand, a decade later, not just having survived, but celebrating being deeply engaged with the very essence of life itself.
On this pivotal anniversary, March 5th, a date that once evoked trepidation, has now become a symbol of my resilience and relentless pursuit of purpose. Every day, maintaining my integrity, I chose to keep my head up, acknowledging virtues that guided me through recovery and to this day.
It is crucial to keep momentum in our lives even in the smallest ways when we are most challenged– how consistent effort, no matter how small, propels us forward. It’s a lesson born from my experience, one that resonates deeply I sense with those of us rebuilding our lives from cancer or from other intense life experiences.
This path has taught me that resilience is like a muscle; it strengthens with use, and with every challenge overcome, our sense of purpose grows clearer.
I mark this day with joy and purpose to celebrate LIFE with you.
