This 4th of July weekend, I took my grandnephew, Henley, on a hike at the Linc in Newnan, GA.
It was a joy!
We walked through a thick wooded area and Henley thought of it being like the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest.
But then I had an idea: to think of this area as a friendly forest instead of a forbidden one?
A place where the trees and the animals were all ‘friends.
When I told Henley this, his eyes got wide.
He asked, ‘Are even the bugs friends here?’
I said, ‘Imagine everyone here, big, or small, just being friends.
As we kept walking, everything felt peaceful, not filled with anxiousness.
It made me realize that how we see the world can change everything.
If we think of the natural world as a friendly place, it can make us feel calmer and happier.
So, here’s to finding peace in the world.
