It is vitally important that when we address our health conditions we address them in a whole person approach. A physical symptom many times is not just a physical symptom. Dr. Bill Bahan, my chiropractor mentor proclaimed: “Cause is always invisible!” Whether you had an accident or feel sick there are precipitory causes that led to the specific condition. Cause lies in what is going on in our heart and mind. It is this realm that may seem invisible but really is the underlying cause for our experience of health or lack of health. There is the necessity of being honest with ourselves and really looking at what has been going on in our heart that we can see the reasons for our infirmity. Whether we took advantage of feeling well and then eating too much or whether we held on to a grudge too long before making the correction there are consequences to pay for our choices.
We may think we can’t help thinking about a problem we may have. However if we are really honest at the deepest level I sense we all know the choices we are actually making even to our detriment. I have heard it said it is better to be kind than right. I find having this awareness in mind when the moment arises when we may feel the need to lash out at someone as a heart changer. Keeping such awarenesses in mind does assist us to continue to be in a way that extends influences of health. For here is the cause of health in and of itself.
